Cutroom 0.7.1 Latest
23 October 2026 · build 58fccd4
From tester feedback on 0.7.0.
Improved
- The four zoom buttons now look different from each other: zoom in, zoom out, zoom out to the whole file, and zoom to the selection. Their tooltips name the shortcut.
- Save As, Save Selection As, Export Between Cues, Mix Down and Batch Process all start in the folder you last saved to, so a run of clips cut from one file lands together.

- Studio Voice in Clean Up: a voice recorded at home or on a phone made to sound like the studio, from its own measurements. Rumble out, the tone matched to a clean studio voice (it only lifts what is really there, so a phone line's missing top end isn't turned into hiss), compression, de-essing, then levelled to −16 LUFS, −23 LUFS or its own loudness with a −1 dBTP ceiling.
- A de-esser that only turns down the esses that stick out; ordinary ones are left alone.
- Clean Up asks what to do after the noise: Studio Voice (the default) or noise only.
- Batch Process has a Studio Voice step.
Cutroom 0.6.1
21 October 2026 · build b191603
Fixes from a check of the whole app.
Fixed
- Export Between Cues and Batch Process stopped after their first dialog.
- Quitting, closing the file or starting a new session during a recording threw the take away. It's now kept as an unsaved change and you're asked about it.
- Undo after dropping a cue lost the cues. Adding, removing and renaming a cue are now undo steps of their own.
- While recording, only stop, record, zoom, scroll and help work, so nothing can break the take.
- A crash on quit with the Cue List open, and crashes after undoing an added plugin or removing a track with plugin windows open.
- A full or failing disk during recording now stops the recording and says why, instead of losing the take.
- Cancel on Auto Edit and Clean Up could freeze Cutroom for ten seconds. Progress now moves smoothly and Cancel answers straight away.
- Clean Up on a selection under 90 seconds now runs in the background with Cancel.
- An interrupted model download could fail for ever ("server said 416").
- Auto Edit: no crash on a call with no words; house numbers in words ("Twelve Main Street") are found as addresses.
Improved
- Better sample-rate conversion everywhere (Save As at another rate, opening files, Stretch): no aliasing, no dull top end, exactly in time.
- DeClip repairs peaks without turning the whole selection down.
- Save warns before overwriting a session that opened with files or plugins missing.
Cutroom 0.6.0
21 October 2026 · build 1b7364d
Added
- Clean Up Speech: the fan, hiss, busy room or phone-line noise taken out from under a voice, with no noise print to capture first, on your own computer. Natural, Light, Strong or all of it. A Clean Up button sits beside Auto Edit. Needs macOS 13 or later on a Mac.
- DeClip: the flattened tops of a caller shouting into the phone redrawn from the audio either side. Also the first step of Auto Edit's clean-up.
- File > Export Between Cues: each stretch between cues saved as its own file, named after its cue, optionally levelled.
- File > Batch Process: DeClip, Clean Up, an EQ preset and a loudness target over a set of files, into a folder, never over the originals.
- Auto-duck in the multitrack: tick Duck Under Other Tracks on a bed and it dips 12 dB while someone's talking, in playback and mixdown alike.
- Transport > Punch and Roll: three seconds of run-up, then record from the cursor and replace the rest. One undo puts it back.
Cutroom 0.5.1
21 October 2026 · build 81dbe2b
Fixed
- Auto Edit no longer mistakes figures, times, prices or years for phone numbers, road names for postcodes, or everyday words for swearing.
- The line check and wrap-up are found only where they really are.
- Two bleeps close together are now one tone, so a word can't slip through.
- Clean-up no longer pumps the hiss on a caller's line through short pauses.
- Mic Check names your real input, stops cleanly when the device changes, and tells a hissy room apart from a telephone-quality mic.
- Dragging a file from the Files list onto the multitrack works first time.
- On a Mac, Ctrl-click near a clip edge opens the clip menu.
- The new-version notice waits while you're recording or playing.
Added
- About shows SignalScope, also from Altivox.
Cutroom 0.5.0
20 October 2026 · build 7ab3f96
Added
- Mic Check: be quiet for three seconds, read a line, and it tells you what to change: level and clipping, background noise, mains hum, room echo, pops, telephone-quality mics, or a voice on one side of a stereo input. Nothing is recorded.
- Auto Edit checks a call is safe to air: swearing bleeped or cut, and phone numbers, postcodes, Eircodes and street addresses found and removed. It also trims the line check at the start and the wrap-up at the end.
- Auto Edit clean-up after the cuts: the caller's line matched to the presenter and the whole call levelled to −23, −16 or −14 LUFS, as its own undo step.
- Multitrack: drag a file from the Files list onto a track, colour tracks, a right-click menu on clips, and S to split at the cursor.
- A new-version notice, checked once a day (Help menu to check now or turn it off).
Cutroom 0.4.0
20 October 2026 · build 7d0eff5
Added
- Live preview in the Graphic Equalizer: the selection loops through the EQ and every slider move is heard straight away.
- Auto Edit for voice-overs, chosen automatically when there's one voice: breaths made quieter or cut, retakes found (keeping the last take), ums and long pauses.
Improved
- Drag a selection past the edge of the view and it scrolls, faster the further you go.
- The Auto Edit model download is checked in seconds instead of minutes on older PCs.
Cutroom 0.3.0
20 October 2026 · build 71d77a6
Added
- Auto Edit for phone-ins: one button proposes cuts for ums, ahs, repeats, long pauses and the presenter's "mm-hm"s over the caller, for you to review before anything changes. It runs on your own computer; the speech models download once, the first time you use it.
Cutroom 0.2.0
19 October 2026 · build fae509d
Added
- Several files open at once, with a Files list. Each keeps its own undo, cues, selection and zoom.
- A right-click edit menu on the waveform, and Copy to New.
- An overview bar above the waveform: drag its edges to zoom, click to jump.
- View > Undo History, and View > Spectral View.
- Graphic Equalizer (10 bands with presets for calls), and Stretch (time and pitch).
- Generate: silence, tones and noise.
- Full Save As options: format, sample rate, mono or stereo, bit depth, FLAC level, MP3 bit rate and mode, dither, presets, and a size estimate.
- Cues and tags saved in WAV and MP3 files.
- Phone recordings (M4A, AAC, 3GP) open on Windows.
Fixed
- Save As and Save Session As could crash: every menu click ran its command twice.
- The Mac build ran only on the newest macOS. It runs on macOS 11 and later again.
- Double-clicking a file in Explorer didn't open it.
- Enter in an effect dialog could cancel instead of applying.
