Privacy notice

Last updated 20 October 2026

The short version: we only see what you send us. The contact form emails us your message and stores nothing else. Cutroom has no account and sends nothing about you or your audio anywhere.

Who we are

Altivox Limited, a company registered in Northern Ireland (company number NI744657), registered office 153 Kingsway, Dunmurry, Belfast, BT17 9RY. We are the controller of the personal information described here. Contact: [email protected] or [email protected].

The contact form

When you send the form we receive your name, email address, organisation (if you give one), the product you ask about and your message. We use them to reply to you and, if you go ahead, to work with you. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (or taking steps towards a contract you ask for).

  • The form is emailed to us through Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France), which delivers it as our email processor. The website itself doesn't store submissions.
  • To stop abuse, the form briefly counts submissions from each internet address (three per ten minutes); that count is kept in memory only.
  • We keep enquiry emails for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any work that follows, then delete them.

Visiting the site and downloading

  • Our web server logs each request: internet address, time, page or file, and browser. The logs are used for security and fault-finding, and to count downloads (see below), and are deleted after 14 days.
  • The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which protects it and speeds it up. Cloudflare processes the same request details on our behalf and may set a cookie strictly needed for its security checks.
  • We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't set cookies ourselves. Fonts are served from this site, not from a third party.
  • Downloads (Cutroom, and the Auto Edit speech models) are logged the same way as any other request. There's no account and no sign-up.
  • We count Cutroom downloads, and Cutroom's daily update checks, from those logs to see how many people use it. We only look at totals (how many, which file, which day), never at who.

Cutroom

  • Cutroom works entirely on your computer. Your audio, projects and edits never leave it. Auto Edit listens to your audio on your own machine, and Mic Check listens to your mic there too and records nothing; nothing is uploaded.
  • Cutroom fetches only two things from the internet, both from altivox.co.uk and logged as above: the Auto Edit speech models, the first time you use Auto Edit; and, once a day, a small file saying what the latest version is (downloads/cutroom/latest.json), so it can tell you when there's an update. Nothing about you or your audio is sent with either. You can turn the daily check off in Help > Check for Updates Automatically.
  • Cutroom keeps logs and crash reports on your computer only (Help > Show Log Folder). We only see them if you choose to send them to us.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict it. Email [email protected] or [email protected]. If you're unhappy with how we handle your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, ico.org.uk.
